What DogWalkr does

DogWalkr is not a marketplace. It is the software layer a dog walker uses after they already have, or are starting to build, their own client list.

  1. Your profile gives clients a professional page with services, credentials, photos, service area, and reviews.
  2. Your booking link collects owner details, dog details, service address, service type, dates, recurring days, notes, and terms agreement.
  3. Your dashboard shows bookings, clients, today's walks, setup progress, and quick actions.
  4. Your calendar shows confirmed one-time walks and generated recurring walk occurrences.
  5. Your walk report lets you complete a walk with an optional photo and short note for the owner.
  6. Your client records keep dog care details, contact info, access notes, and booking history together.

First setup

The fastest path is to finish Guided Setup, then review the dashboard checklist.

  1. Open /onboarding after signup and enter your service types, starter prices, profile basics, and booking terms.
  2. Go to Dashboard -> Profile and finish your public business name, service area, phone, photos, bio, credentials, and booking URL slug.
  3. Go to Dashboard -> Rates or Calculator and confirm the prices DogWalkr should use for estimates.
  4. Copy your booking link from the dashboard and send it to a repeat client, paste it in your Instagram bio, or add it to your Google Business Profile.

Pricing approach

DogWalkr is built around simple service pricing. Start with the rates you already quote by text, then clean them up after your first few requests.

  1. Use a default 30-minute walk rate as the anchor.
  2. Add drop-in, puppy visit, group walk, hourly, or custom package pricing if you offer them.
  3. If you offer pet sitting, set an overnight / house-sitting rate per night and a cat-care visit rate too (see Pet sitting).
  4. Use recurring package prices for 3x/week or 5x/week clients when you want cleaner repeat bookings.
  5. Keep your booking terms plain: cancellation window, key access notes, payment timing, and weather policy.

Booking requests

DogWalkr supports both public requests from your booking link and quick bookings you create during a call or DM.

  1. Public requests arrive from /book/[your-slug] with owner, dog, address, service, schedule, and terms fields.
  2. Use Dashboard -> Bookings to review pending requests and update status.
  3. Use quick add when someone calls or messages you. Capture the basics first, then fill in dog details after the conversation.
  4. Confirm only after the service details, schedule, price, and access notes are clear.
  5. For recurring clients, set the recurring days before confirming. DogWalkr generates the upcoming walk occurrences from that schedule.
  6. If a confirmed recurring client stops, open the booking and choose End recurring walks. Future scheduled walks for that booking are cancelled.

Clients and dogs

Client records help you keep repeat work direct instead of scattered across Rover, texts, notes, and spreadsheets.

  1. DogWalkr can create client records from booking requests.
  2. Keep owner name, email, phone, address, dog breed, dog size, temperament, and care notes current.
  3. Use notes for key access, reactivity, feeding, medication, preferred routes, and recurring schedule details.

Calendar and availability

Use the calendar as the operator view of what is coming up. Every confirmed one-time or recurring walk should be easy to find.

  1. Review upcoming bookings from Dashboard -> Calendar.
  2. Set availability or blocked dates before accepting new recurring clients.
  3. For recurring bookings, confirm the expected days before marking the request confirmed.
  4. Use Start when a walk begins, Complete when it is done, and Skip only when a scheduled occurrence should not happen.
  5. Completing one occurrence does not end the whole recurring client. Use End recurring walks on the booking when the relationship stops.

Walk reports

Walk reports are the owner-facing proof that a walk happened. Keep them short and consistent. Pet-sitting visits and overnight stays use the same Complete flow and send a stay report instead.

  1. On the dashboard or calendar, tap Complete for the scheduled walk.
  2. Add an optional photo from the walk.
  3. Add an optional short note, such as bathroom update, energy level, behavior note, or anything the owner should know.
  4. Tap Done. DogWalkr marks the walk complete and sends the owner a walk report email when email sending is active.
  5. If email sending is not fully active yet, the walk can still be completed; email deliverability depends on Resend/domain setup.

Pet sitting

DogWalkr does pet sitting too — overnight stays, multi-day house sitting, and cat care visits — in the same app, right alongside your walks. Turn on the services you offer and they show up on your booking link automatically.

  1. Turn sitting on in Dashboard -> Profile -> Services offered. Check Overnight stays, House sitting, and/or Cat care visits. Only the services you check appear on your booking link.
  2. Set your sitting prices in Dashboard -> Rates: an overnight / house-sitting rate per night, and a cat-care visit rate. Your walking rates stay separate.
  3. On your booking link, the client picks a sitting service. Overnight and house sitting ask for a start date and an end date, so the whole stay is one booking with the right number of nights.
  4. Confirm the request like any other booking. While a stay is active it appears in Today's sits on your dashboard, and as a multi-day block across its dates on the calendar.
  5. Finish a visit or stay exactly like a walk: tap Complete, add an optional photo and note, and the owner gets a stay report instead of a walk report.
  6. Your Clients list tags each client Walk, Sit, or Both automatically, based on what they book — so you can see your mix at a glance.

Billing

DogWalkr uses a simple subscription after a 14-day free trial: $19/month, or $190/year annually. No client transaction fee. No percentage of your walks.

  1. Use Dashboard -> Billing to start or manage the subscription. You can choose monthly or annual billing.
  2. If a trial expires, the public profile can remain visible but booking-system access may be limited until billing is active.
  3. For billing help, email billing@oceanwolfmedia.com.
